Almost all insurance companies offer a selection of auto insurance discounts; however the range of discounts available tends to vary by company, and not all discounts are offered by all companies or in all states. Some of the discounts currently being offered are detailed below. Remember to ask the insurance company if you are eligible for any of these before accepting a quote and purchasing a policy.

• Accident-Free Discount

  Being accident-free for 3 years may save you 5% on your premium. Being accident-free for 5 years or more might save you 10%.

  Another benefit of owning a new car – get a discount for being the first name on the title to your vehicle.

• Hybrid Auto Discount

  You may receive a discount for owning a hybrid car.

• Farm or Ranch Vehicle Discount

  Farmers and ranchers may receive a discount for insuring vehicle used exclusively for work on a farm or ranch.

• Affiliation Discount

  Save up to 10% by being affiliated with certain groups or organizations, including college alumni associations, educational organizations, the military and more.

• Farm Bureau Member Discount

  Receive a discount just for being a Farm Bureau member.

• Customer Loyalty Discount

  Stay with the same insurance company for three or more years and qualify for a long-term policyholder discount. Some insurers even offer variable tenure-based discounts, for example, a 5% discount after three years and 15% after five years.

• Multiple Vehicle Discount

  Save up to 20% by insuring more than one vehicle with the same insurance company.

• Multiple Policy Discount

  Save up to 10% by purchasing multiple policies from the same insurance company. Buy auto and home insurance together and receive a discount.

• Good Student Discount

  Students aged 25 or younger who maintain good grades may receive discounts of up to 15%.

• Resident Student Discount

  Receive a discount is a student named on your policy and resides at a school more than 100 miles away from your home.

• 55 and Retired Discount

  If you’re age 55 or older and not employed full time, you may be eligible for a discount.
